Antique Glass Bottles are classified as those manufactured prior to 1900. Many of these antique bottles were hand blown with an applied lip; if you see a seam in the lip portion of your bottle it was most likely made after 1900. By modern standards antique glass bottles were crudely made. Many have air bubbles and imperfections in the glass. If you are digging for bottles you can often date the bottle by the refuse found around it.. it isn't uncommon to dig up a bottle and find nearby at the same level a newspaper with a readable date.
Some Antique glass bottles are highly collectible, check prices on line or attend a bottle show!
